Every Tuesday, my kids go to the Riversprings Learning Center for some fun classes, such as dance, musical theater, and computer design. They also take a science coarse, since I’m just not confident enough in that particular area to even attempt at home. Oh, who am I kidding?! I’m not all that confident in many areas of homeschooling, but we manage. I just didn’t want Andrew blowing up my kitchen with science experiments!

Speaking of Andrew and science, he led me to believe that he didn’t have a science project over the Thanksgiving break… but, in fact, he did. With less than 48 hours, he has to research, develop and construct a diorama for an animal and its ecosystem.

Great. There goes my plans for the next two days. If you’re a mom, you know full well, that as much as want our kids to do these projects on their own, it just doesn’t work that way. But if you’ve found the secret to getting 11 year old boys to work on their own.. please email ASAP because I desperately need to recover some lost time!

Today is Sam’s birthday and all he wants to do is lie down on the couch and watch all the Harry Potter movies, in succession, all day long. But before he can do that, we have to pick a winner for the Facebook Fan Appreciation Contest. We had a blast putting this together to select the winner. Do you think you won? Every year I try to send holiday cards, but honestly, its hit or miss with our family. I’m lucky if they get mailed out before the New Year. What’s really lame, is that I always buy them.. every year. I always intend to send them out.. but somewhere during the final quarter marathon, the cards get buried under school back packs, fall garland, and spooky Halloween decor which gets left out till Christmas. I usually get my first Holiday Card a week after Thanksgiving and that’s when I remember that I have no idea where I put the cards! UGH!! I’ve seen an improvement in these past few years, but that’s only because the kids have an uncanny knack for finding other people’s stuff.

And what makes matters so much worse, is that I LOVE getting Holiday Cards and feel like such a flake when I don’t send them myself. I love that feeling of finding a Christmas Card in the mail; its like a friendly hug in a pretty little package. So, having said that, I will make sure to give out lots of little hugs this year.. and I want to help you do the same..

Each session will include an 60-75 minute appointment, where you and your family will have a fun outdoor mini photo session lasting about 15-20 minutes in our natural outdoor studio located in the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains. After we’ve had our fill of smiles and giggles outside, you’ll join us in our studio to browse thru our collection of holiday cards, picking out your favorite style. And here’s the best part – while you’re picking out your cards, we will be developing your 15-20 images for you to see, right there on the spot! You select the one to five images (based on your card choice) for your card. And voila!! You’re done!! Your cards will be ordered and delivered directly to you! How awesome is that?!

Well, summer is wrapping up and school has begun here in the Vines’ home. This is our 3rd year homeschooling our children and I have a feeling it will be the best year yet!
