Fall has officially begun here in Southern California although you wouldn’t know it with our current daily temps of near 100 degrees every day!! The fall solstice was just a few days ago, but for me, fall is official after I’ve had my first family photography session in Oak Glen! Oak Glen, where the weather is a little cooler and the leaves have begun to change and the apples are ready for picking. Thank you, Rosenthal Family, for kicking off the fall/holiday season with such great smiles!! And thank you, Riley’s Farm for making us feel so welcome! You are my go to location for all my fall family photos is Oak Glen, and we absolutely love the Hawks Head Restaurant. Jared, Sarah and the girls treated me and Andrew to breakfast after the photo session and everything was so delicious, especially the warm apple cider! YUM!!

Ava and Lily have really grown so much.. Its been amazing watching these twins grow into such lovely, confident young ladies..

Mahtab and Daniel are getting married at The Christmas House in just a few short weeks and I can hardly wait, especially after the amazing engagement session we had at the Newport Beach Civic Center. I let my clients pick the locations for their engagement session, and admittedly, most ask me for guidance. My response is either pick a place that has special meaning for you both, or choose a brand new location to explore.. Mahab and Daniel chose the latter and they chose it because of the interesting mix of architecture, landscaping and nature. The combination of light and texture had me giddy and I’m not even kidding when I say that I would get so excited, I had a hard time choosing locations! lol And while it was rather warm for the OC, the afternoon ocean breeze would hit us every now and then, offering a reprieve from the heat.

And did I mention the light?! GLORIOUS!! I love how the cacti look in the light.. oh, and Mahtab and Daniel aren’t so bad, either!:)

Jaydyn is having a Frozen themed birthday party coming up, so of course we had to play around with a Frozen inspired mini session here at the studio.. When it came to creating this session, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration, of course! That’s where I found this really cool backdrop from PepperLu and I fell in love with it immediately! I love the large, 3-D effect of the snowflakes made from doilies and the soft grey and white color scheme. I think this versatile backdrop will get a lot of use at the studio! I was looking for something a Frozen inspired, but not Frozen copied, and I love how this turned out.. Jaydyn and I had a lot of fun throwing ‘snowballs’ back and forth at each other and making the snow fall from our fingers…

How adorable is Jaydyn?!

Love this sweetie pie’s smile!! It took a little coaxing at first, because Jaydyn likes to examine everything around her..but once we started singing “Let It Go”, she warmed right up to camera.. Can you tell we had a good time?

Enjoy your slideshow!!
