My son is 9 today. He still wishes me good morning right after he wakes up, even if I’m still asleep and in bed. He still crawls into bed with me at night and tries to wriggle his way between me and Sam, hoping this time we will say yes and let him sleep with us. He still kisses his sister and tells her he loves her, even when he fights with her. He’s still my little boy.
But this year, he learned to cook scrambled eggs on the stove. He learned to be gracious when he comes in second place. He learned that he likes cheese, sometimes.
He got his first BB gun, so I guess he’ll be learning about gun responsibility and safety. I’m ok with that. He is a man in the making. A warrior.
But he will always be my little boy. Always.
Love you, Andrew. Happy Birthday.

By the way, this amazing picture was taken by a future employee of Carrie Vines Photography. Her name is Tannis. Does this girl have a future in photography or what?! I’m so proud!
