I ♥ Faces & Freedom

I was desperately trying to get this blog on line in part because of I ♥ Faces, which I just discovered last week. I’m always so late when it comes to good finds, I tell ya! I ♥ Faces is a photography blog dedicated to sharing faces from around the world, offering tutorials on photoshop techniques, and giving away prizes and honors with their weekly contests. I found out about this fun website thru Jasmine Star, one of my favorite photographers and all around mega star wedding photographer. She had posted on her blog that she was going to be selecting the winning photo for this week’s theme of Wedding Bells.

Since I just shot my first wedding 2 months ago, I instantly knew what face I wanted to submit. I have many lovely pictures of the our bride, and our bride and groom together, but I wanted to step outta the box and stand out. With Elvis as an honorable guest and officiant, how could I NOT include his picture? When I captured the following picture in the car on the way to the chapel, I knew I would be using it on my website. And now I can proudly say that that Jasmine Star picked it for 6th place in the I ♥ Faces Wedding Bells contest! I’m so stoked! 6th place out of 323 entries!!

As I sit here basking in all my 6th place glory (saying complete with tongue and cheek), I would be remiss if I didn’t offer up my sincerest gratitude and thanks to the real glorious heroes of our nation-all the service men and women who have and are continuing to fight for our country’s freedom. I love my country and my freedom. My wish for you is that you and your family celebrate today in the spirit of our nation…. soaring strong, proud, and free!

In honor of I ♥ Faces and our nation’s best holiday, here’s a picture of the prettiest face I could think of today.
